James Craig Annan was the second son of Thomas Annan. J ames Craig Annan was a renowned pictorial and portrait photographer. He was accepted into the “Linked Ring, a select group of photographers who promoted art photography, in James Craig Annan revived interest in the Hill & Adamson calotypes by making gravure prints from their work. JAMES CRAIG ANNAN was a master photogravure printer and a leading pictorialist photographer around the turn of the twentieth century. He produced most of his own work as well as that of others in the photogravure process, which he learned from its inventor, Karl Klíc.
